What is Gynecomastia?

The Procedure and Recovery
Given his education and special training, Dr. Tirgari can perform tumescent liposuction on the chest. With this technique, you are given local anesthesia instead of the general anesthesia used in traditional liposuction. You will also be given a sedative to make you relaxed and slightly sedated while the procedure is being performed. Next, Dr. Tirgari will insert a laser-guided cannula or suctioning device into the area beneath the top layers of the skin called the subcutaneous area. This is where the fat cells are deposited. He will then move the laser instrument back and forth to reach all the fat deposits that need to be melted. Once the fat is converted into a liquefied form, it will be suctioned out from the chest. This process also promotes the release of collagen, which makes the skin of the treated area tighter.
Your Recovery Period
After your procedure at our facility, you will be given some recovery time, after which you are free to leave the clinic as long as you feel good and you have a ride. You will head out with post-operative instructions as well as pain medications, should you need them. You will fully recover within just a few days, though you will be advised not to exercise or perform any vigorous physical activities for a few weeks. In some cases, Dr. Tirgari will administer surgical garments to aid in the healing process. Follow-up care will also be scheduled by Dr. Tirgari who will see you to make sure that the incisions are healing normally, and that the desired results were obtained.
