How Does
Latisse Work?

It is unknown exactly how Latisse works. However, research suggests that its active ingredient Bimatoprost prolongs the hair growth cycle, thereby allowing eyelashes to continue to grow as long as Latisse is used. On average, the results become evident within just a few weeks and continue to improve for up to 16 weeks. In order to maintain the results, Latisse needs to be topically applied on a regular basis.

During treatment, Latisse is applied just above the upper eyelashes with a disposable, sterile applicator. The best time to apply Latisse is at night, just before going to bed. To prevent the possibility of eye irritation and/or infection, patients are strongly advised to discard each applicator after each use. Likewise, the applicator should not be touched with fingers or laid on any surfaces, which can contaminate the applicator and spread bacteria into the eye.

Latisse may cause the following side effects in some patients: eye itching, eye redness, skin darkening along the eyelid, eye irritation, dry eye and eye redness. If you experience any of these side effects, please discontinue use and call our office for further instructions.
