How Does It Work?

What Is The Avalon
Hair ReStore Procedure?

Our San Diego hair restoration is relatively quick, with each session generally only taking up to one hour. Once it’s been decided that the Avalon Hair ReStore treatment is right for you, your appointment will begin with the doctor drawing a small amount of your own blood which is placed in a collection tube with separating gel.

This is then placed in a centrifuge to extract the platelet-rich plasma from the red and white blood cells. Once this occurs, the PRP then sits for a short period with a solution of calcium chloride to create the PRFM.

After the PRFM is ready, the doctor will use a topical anesthetic on your scalp to temporarily numb the area being injected. The PRFM is then injected into the target areas.
Depending on the level of hair thinning and loss, a series of three treatment sessions roughly four to six weeks apart may be needed to complete the restoration process. After the final injection, it may take anywhere from three to six months to see visible results.
After the procedure, it’s recommended that you refrain from massaging or aggressively rubbing your head for at least 72 hours. This also includes taking precautions to gently wash your hair and trying not to sleep on the treated areas during this time to fully allow the matrix of PRFM to release into your scalp.
